How to Use Recode for the Best Results: Your Ultimate Bond Repair Hair Routine

If your hair is feeling dry, damaged, breaking easily or covered in split ends, simply adding more conditioner isn’t always enough. Heat styling, bleaching, colouring and chemical treatments can weaken the structure of the hair over time, causing strands to lose strength and elasticity.

The Give Me Recode Bonding Haircare Range has been designed to specifically repair, strengthen and protect damaged hair, working to rebuild stronger, healthier-looking strands. But using the products correctly can make a huge difference in your results.

Here’s exactly how to use Recode for your strongest, smoothest and glossiest hair yet.

Step 1: Cleanse with Recode Bonding Shampoo

Start by thoroughly wetting your hair and massaging the Recode Bonding Shampoo into the scalp and lengths.

The shampoo helps cleanse while supporting stronger-feeling hair without stripping away moisture, making it ideal for hair affected by heat damage, bleach or colour treatments.

Rinse thoroughly before moving onto your treatment step.

Step 2: (You Don’t need to condition!) Use the Recode Leave-In Hair Mask (The Step People Often Overdo)

This is where many people use far more product than needed.

With the Recode Leave-In Hair Mask, more product doesn't mean better results.

Start with a small amount, around 1–2 pumps depending on hair length and thickness and work through your hair in sections. You can always build up if needed.

Top tip: If you're using the Leave-In Hair Mask, you don't need to use conditioner too.

The mask is already designed to hydrate, smooth, strengthen and seal split ends, so layering conditioner underneath can be unnecessary and may make hair feel heavier.

Comb through evenly and leave for around 5 minutes before styling.

Step 3: Apply Hair Oil Correctly (Less Is More)

Hair oil is another product that's easy to overapply.

For best results:

  • Start with one small pump
  • Rub your hands together first to warm the product
  • Apply through mid-lengths and ends only
  • Focus on damaged sections
  • Avoid the roots

Warming the oil in your hands helps distribute it more evenly and prevents concentrated patches of product.

For extra nourishment and smoother styling, apply it onto wet or damp hair before styling, rather than waiting until your hair is completely dry. This helps coat the hair more evenly and supports a smoother finish.

If needed, you can always add a tiny amount afterwards to tame flyaways.

Final Tip: Don't Overload Your Hair

One of the biggest mistakes with repair products is assuming more product means more repair.

With Recode, the goal is to let the formulas do the work:

✔ Small amount of mask
✔ Skip conditioner when using the mask
✔ One pump of oil warmed between hands
✔ Apply oil to damp hair

Sometimes stronger, healthier-looking hair isn't about adding more, it's about using the right products in the right way.
